2017 Summer Reading Program
In The Library
Visit your local library to create fun crafts, watch exciting programs, and win awesome prizes by reading your favorite books! Summer Reading programs in our libraries start on different dates in June, so be sure to call or visit your library to find out when you can sign up.
View the complete list of Summer Reading Events in our Online Calendar!
Helpful Hint: Find events at the libraries you visit by using the location sort option at the top of the page. Learn more about using our online calendar on our Calendar Tips page.
If you can't visit your local library this summer, sign up online to play a summer reading game that tracks how many hours you read. The Online Kids Summer Reading Program is available from June 1st to August 31st.
Read! Track! Stay Connected!
Write poetry! Get published!
Submit up to two original poems online from June 1st to August 31st to be included in our 2017 anthology. After summer, copies of the book (with your poetry in it!) will be available to check out at all library locations.
You're never too old for our summer reading program!
Consider signing up if:
- You just signed your kids up for Summer Reading, and you want to model awesome reading habits.
- You have fond memories of tracking your hours for Summer Reading when you were a kid, and have secretly wished for years that you could still participate.
- You want to try the built-in challenges designed to get you reading new and interesting things.
- You like to win things.
The Adult Summer Reading Program runs from June 1st to August 31st. For every ten hours you read this summer, you'll earn one entry to win a brand new Kindle Fire along with a Polaroid 10-piece Tablet Essentials kit*! Don't forget: reading to others and listening to audiobooks count!
*This prize was generously donated by the Wenatchee Eagles #204 to encourage everyone in our communities to enjoy some quality reading time this summer!
