What's Happening @ the Library: Oct. 7-12

Fall is in the air, and fall programming is in full swing at our libraries. We are busily preparing for our upcoming visit of award-winning author Robin Benway — and encourage you all to read her National Book Award winner Far From the Tree.  And there are also plenty of fun and informative programs happening this week at many of our branch libraries for all ages!

Sing Me A Story

Musician and storyteller Bradford Loomis presents an interactive experience about the power of stories and how we respond to them. He will perform his original songs and invite the audience to ask questions about the stories behind them.

Meet Author/Journalist Claudia Rowe

Rowe won the Washington State Book Award for her memoir The Spider and the Fly. The true-crime story chronicles her unusual connection with a convicted serial killer and her search to understand the darkness inside people.

  • Peshastin: STEM Club, 4 p.m. Wednesday; Backyard adventures — learn about our nature backpacks and then go exploring in the backyard, 4 p.m. Thursday; Fiber Friday (bring a knitting, crocheting or other fiber projects and work together), 2 p.m. Friday
  • Quincy: We-Do Lego Robotics, 3:30 p.m. Thursday; Lego building challenge, 3:30 p.m. Friday;m toothpick tower building challenge, 10:30 a.m. Saturday
  • Twisp: Floating ping pong balls and flying toilet paper, 3:45 p.m. Thursday
