Computers & WiFi Info

Public Computers

All of our libraries offer computers for use by the public free of charge! Computers are available from the library’s opening until 15 minutes before closing, and you are welcome to use them for 60 minutes at a time and up to one hour total per day. If you need more time on one of our computers, please check with your librarian to see if it is possible.

Computers are equipped with high speed internet access and an office software suite (LibreOffice).

In addition, we offer:

  • 15 pages of free printing each day. Additional pages can be purchased for 10 cents each.
  • Headphones for in-library use. Ask your librarian about availability!

For extra security, our computers require a simple log in. To log in, use your library card number (all 14 digits with no spaces) and your password (usually the last four digits in your phone number). If you are a visitor, our librarians will be happy to give you a guest pass!

In order to use our public computers, you will be asked to agree to our Internet Use Policy.

Wireless Internet Access

All of our libraries offer unlimited wireless internet access (wifi)! Printing is not available via wifi at this time, but if you need to print, simply save your work to a USB drive or email the files to yourself. You can then log in to one of the library’s public computers to access and print your files.

In order to use our wifi network, locate your wifi settings on your device and select “NCW Libraries Public,” you be automatically connected. You will then be asked to agree to our Internet Use Policy.

Please remember: Use caution when transmitting information over wifi, as wireless connections are not always secure. The library is not responsible for damage to software, hardware, or files on equipment connected to our wireless network.

Computers for Children

Most of our libraries offer Early Literacy Computers! These are dynamic, all-in-one digital learning stations for children ages 2-8. The latest version features more than 60 educational software titles spanning seven curricular areas. These areas are displayed using engaging graphics and intuitive menus in both English and Spanish.

Our Early Literacy Computers do not connect to the internet, so they are safe and secure for even our youngest users!

Guest Passes

If you are visiting our area and would like to use the library’s public computers, ask your librarian for a daily guest pass.
