Bookmobiles

What are Bookmobiles?

Bookmobiles are public libraries on wheels, and NCRL has a long tradition of using them to increase access to library services for residents in every corner of our five-county service area.

In the spring of 2018, NCRL's Bookmobile Outreach team began operating two all-new bookmobile vehicles. The larger BOOKMOBILE boasts a 24'-long interior library space and carries materials for all-ages. It will serve adult living facilities and residents in our most remote communities. The RURAL SCHOOL BOOKMOBILE has an 18'-long interior library space dedicated to the hottest books for students in our rural schools. Each offers over 2,500 items available for checkout, free WiFi, A/C, heat, and a wheelchair lift. And both will be used to promote NCRL services at community events and parades!
