What's Happening: Week of Nov. 13

The calendar of events at our libraries this week is pretty full!

To help you figure out what you might want to do, we've sorted through nearly 100 programs and activities and organized some of them into categories:

Author event!

 

Bestselling author and two-time National Book Award finalist Patricia McCormick will give a talk and sign copies of her books at Wenatchee High School on Monday. A movie of her book, Sold, will be shown from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by her talk from 6 to 7 p.m.


Humanities Washington talks

Author and broadcaster Harriet Baskas will explore ancient foods in her talk “The Ancient Fruitcake: What Really, Really Old Food Tells Us About History, Culture, Love and Memory at several libraries. She will talk about foods archeologists have found buried with mummies, the petrified banana so appealing it sparked a Banana Museum, the 350-year-old fruitcake handed down through generations, 2000-year-old bog butter, and the pickle that has been in a jar since the 1860s. The schedule is:
