This Week @ the Library: Nov. 25-30

All of our branch libraries will be closed on Thursday and Friday this week for the Thanksgiving holiday. So be sure to check out lots of reading and viewing materials early this week — and catch one of these programs to start your holiday week off! 

Adult STEM Night

Our fall adult STEM series continues this week with fall-themed tie dye. Fabric squares will be provided, or bring your own clean white t-shirt or tea towel to dye.

National Novel Writing Month

Several of our libraries will be hosting activities this month to help foster novel writing. With dedicated space, free wifi and lots of books and research material, the library is the perfect place to find literary inspiration!

  • Oroville: Come anytime this week to work on your writing alone or with others.
  • Tonasket: Group writing session with optional writing prompts, swag and a chance to win a prize, noon to 2 p.m. Saturday
  • Wenatchee: Work on your writing with other writers, 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday



  • Brewster: Watch a movie, 3 p.m. Wednesday
  • Cashmere: Thanksgiving story time, 10 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday
  • Entiat: Holiday kickoff movie, 1 p.m. Wednesday
  • Grand Coulee: STEM activity, 4 p.m. Wednesday
  • Leavenworth: STEM Club, 3:30 p.m. Monday
  • Mattawa: STEM after school, 3:30 p.m. Wednesday
  • Oroville: Sew a project using rust-dyed fabric, 3:45 p.m. Wednesday
  • Quincy: Watch the movie Angry Birds 2, 1 p.m. Wednesday; STEM kits and games, 1 p.m. Saturday
  • Republic: Makerspace, 3 p.m. Monday
  • Royal City: STEM after school, 4 p.m. Monday
  • Tonasket: Makespace activities, 12:45 p.m. Wednesday
  • Wenatchee: All ages and skill level knitting, 4 p.m. Monday; pajama story time, 7 p.m. Tuesday

Just for Teens

  • Brewster: Games, crafts and STEM for teens, 5 p.m. Wednesday
  • Oroville: Group crafts for teens and adults, 1:30 p.m. Saturday

Adult Programs

  • Mattawa: English language classes, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday
  • Moses Lake: Garden Club, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday; adult sit and stitch, 4 p.m. Wednesday
  • Peshastin: Bring your fabric crafting projects and work with others at the library, 11 a.m. Saturday
