What's Happening @ the Library: July 22-27

We are halfway through our summer program and the fun continues this week with fossils, a world-class hiker, more outer space adventures, and lots of arts and crafts for adults, teens and children.

The Burke Museum of Natural History

Take a journey through geologic time as you examine real fossils, rocks and minerals, as well as cast replicas of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals and plants. Then unearth fossils in fossil-dig pits, and learn about the work of paleontologists and geologists. This program is coming to the following libraries:

Space Dogs from Planet K-9

In this music and poetry-filled space adventure, Benjamin D. Dog pretends to be a space alien whose cardboard spaceship has crash landed into Earth. Can musician and author Eric Ode get this wayward alien back home to Planet K-9? Catch Eric's program at the following libraries:

An Evening with Jennifer Pharr Davis

This National Geographic Adventurer of the Year has covered more than 14,000 miles of long-distance hiking on six continents. In 2011,
she hiked the 2,185-mile Appalachian Trail in forty-six days, eleven hours, and twenty minutes and claimed the overall fastest known time on the trail. She will speak at the following locations:
