BE A PART OF HISTORY
In 1968, NCRL launched the first mail order library in the United States. It was established to serve people in rural areas that have a difficult time getting to their nearest library. The project was an instant success, with people in our communities sending in comments like “It’s so convenient to use” and “Mail order is so great, libraries should try it!”.
Today, our Mail Order Library delivers 50,000 catalogs to residents in all five of our counties three times each year. Many other library systems have adopted our mail order library strategy over the years, but ours is one of few that remain successfully in operation.
In 2018, our Mail Order Library will have been operating for 50 years, and we want to celebrate you and your artwork on the cover of our catalog.
